Welcome to the website for Elysian Massage.  Elysian Massage has been set up by me, Jenny Towler, a fully qualified Massage Therapist.  I specialise in Holistic Massage which is a wonderful, relaxing treatment with many benefits.  Please read on for further information.

Holistic Massage

Massage is a great treatment to help to relax both the mind and body.  It is the therapeutic application of touch using a combination of various movements (ranging from gentle stroking to invigorating friction), upon the skin, muscles and joints.  It has significant benefits for all the body’s essential systems and helps to maintain our general heath, fitness and flexibility.

The term ‘holistic’ comes from the Greek word ‘holas’ meaning whole.  The aim of Holistic Massage is therefore to look at treating each person individually and evaluating many different factors such as lifestyle, medical history and nutrition in order to treat the body as a whole (and not just the physical aspect) to achieve homeostasis (balance) within the mind and body.

The training undergone for Holistic therapy is quite extensive as it covers not only massage but also looks in depth at Anatomy and Physiology to get a greater awareness about the body and how it works. The Holistic approach is a natural and effective way to treat physical conditions and psychological problems and concentrates on bringing the body back into balance and harmony.
